James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe finally kicks off this December when Creature Commandos premiers on Max.
Creature Commandos is an animated TV series in which Amanda Waller creates a black ops team out of monstrous prisoners. It’s the first project in the new DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, which also includes a new Superman movie and Peacemaker Season 2. (Season 1 takes place in the now defunct DC Extended Universe.)
Creature Commandos, though, gets the ball rolling on December 5. New episodes then drop weekly on Thursdays. Season 1 includes seven episodes, so ends on January 16, 2025.
Steve Agee plays Economos, Maria Bakalova is Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra is Circe, Zoe Chao is Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo plays Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn is GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour plays Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk is Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma is The Bride, and Viola Davis plays Amanda Waller. DC Studios co-head Gunn is the writer and executive producer on the series.

Meanwhile, Superman is due on July 11, 2025, with David Corenswet in the titular role. It will tell the story of a young Superman, though it won't be an origin story and will also feature tons of other DC heroes and villains.
