Toho has shared the official title and first teaser for its next Godzilla movie, which will be making its U.S. theatrical debut this December.
The teaser for the live-action monster movie, now titled Godzilla Minus One, offered a glimpse at a new terror rising in post-war Japan. Foreboding crunching sounds rumble in the distance before the titular kaiju appears on screen, stepping out on a terrifying rampage and causing even more devastation to the war-torn country.

Godzilla Minus One marks the first domestic Japanese film since 2016's Shin Godzilla. The new movie, written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, will premiere in Japan on November 3, 2023 — exactly one year from when Toho first announced the feature — and it will get a theatrical release in the United States on December 1, 2023.
In addition to Toho's romp-and-stop Godzilla movie, Warner Bros. and Legendary's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is due sometime in 2024. A sequel to 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong and the fifth movie in the Monsterverse franchise, this time, Godzilla will unite with King Kong against a new threat from Hollow Earth.
