The Acolyte, set to premiere in 2024, will break new ground in Star Wars by telling a story set hundreds of years before Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Since the show strays so far from the timeline of the franchise's nine core Skywalker Saga films, the Jedi Order will appear very different from the organization fans encountered in the Prequels. The Acolyte takes place during the High Republic Era, an age of discovery and hope when the Jedi Order was more numerous and influential than during the twilight of the Galactic Republic. With a greater variety of Jedi, one clear difference emerges from the Jedi of the Clone Wars: High Republic Jedi wielded a huge variety of lightsabers, especially compared to the dominance of single blue and green blades by the Prequel Era.
