On November 8, 2023, some random Tuesday, Nintendo dropped a bomb of an announcement on X: there's a live-action Legend of Zelda movie in development, produced by Avi Arad and Shigeru Miyamoto himself. What's interesting about the movie is that adaptation-wise, it's uncharted territory. Mario had an anime film in the 80s and a live-action movie in the 90s before its 2023 animated adventure, while Pokémon had 19 anime movies before Pokémon Detective Pikachu's 2019 release.
