Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the new Godzilla series coming to Apple TV+, got a new trailer reveal today (which you can watch here) at New York Comic Con, where we learned a bit more about the plot and the mystery these characters will soon unravel.
During today's NYCC panel, Apple TV+ revealed the second look at the upcoming series, following the teaser it dropped a little over a month ago. The latest footage briefly nods to the events from the 2014 Godzilla film and how the aftermath leads two siblings to dig deeper into their family history.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' new trailer reveals the elusive Monarch organization, equipped with a militia-type unit and plenty of information it is trying to keep a tight lip on. The show will focus on two different time periods - one in the 1950s, the other half a century later - and today's trailer also shows a bit of both.
It sets the tone for the series that viewers, along with the characters, will be unraveling a mystery about that secret Monarch organization and the discovery of monsters, with one scene showing the birth of multiple Godzilla-like babies. You can also briefly see some other monsters and titans that will appear, including a giant spider we can barely see as it plows through multiple trees.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was announced over a year ago and is the second TV series in the MonsterVerse, following the Netflix series Kong: Skull Island, which premiered earlier this year. In addition to all the monsters we'll see in the show, one detail that's attracted some attention is the casting of father and son duo Wyatt and Kurt Russell, who will play younger and older versions, respectively, of Army officer Lee Shaw in the two time periods.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' first two episodes will premiere on Nov. 17 exclusively on Apple TV+. The remaining episodes will be released every Friday, with the season finale set for January 12.
