Ever since the release of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc in 2010, the Danganronpa franchise has captivated players around the world with its memorably eccentric characters, elaborate murder mysteries, and gruesome yet stylish visuals. The first two installments present separate scenarios in which a group of gifted students from the prestigious Hope's Peak Academy are forced into a killing game, wherein they must murder each other without being caught or risk being discovered and brutally punished in a class trial. The grisly premise combined with the series' dark sense of humor helped Danganronpa become a unique cult classic and the face of the entire death game genre. However, the franchise's final installment, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, concluded with a shocking twist that may have turned many fans away from the series forever.
