All fishing spots in Genshin Impact

You can fish in Genshin Impact, complete with a mini-game, an activity separate from brutally murdering a bunch of fish in the water for food. You’ll need to fish to grab some free-to-play weapons and unlock certain housing cosmetics. Each region has fishing spots in different areas, with specific fish spawning at each pool.

How to unlock fishing in Genshin Impact

To unlock fishing, you need to accept and complete the world quest “Exploding Population.” For most players, this quest will automatically appear in your quest list when you log on. If you don’t have it, you need to have the housing system, the Serenitea Pot, unlocked.

Talk to Katheryne in Mondstadt, which will lead you on a fairly straightforward journey. You’ll be tasked with catching fish, and this will essentially serve as a tutorial for Genshin Impact’s fishing minigame.

Once you have Genshin Impact fishing unlocked, you can start fishing pretty much anywhere you see bubbling waters and fish swimming around. You can trade fish in for better bait recipes and fishing rods to members of the Fishing Association, and you can use them in cooking. You can also use the fish to grab some good free-to-play weapons, like The Catch polearm and the End of the Line bow.

Genshin Impact fishing spots

Genshin Impact has introduced many fishing spots throughout Teyvat. Most fishing spots have the same fish, with different ones appearing at different times of day. Our Genshin Impact guide will teach you where all the fish in the game are and which baits to use for them, including the fishing spots added in Natlan as part of the patch 5.2 update.

Some fish will only spawn during day and some will only spawn at night. Daytime is from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., and nighttime is 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. You can use the clock in the menu to change the time.

Fish take about three days to respawn (in real life time, not game time).
