Padmé Amidala is often cited as one of the most remarkable women in Star Wars. She's so much more than the wife of Anakin Skywalker or the mother of twins. She ruled an entire planet, was a groundbreaking senator, and produced the next generation of renowned galactic heroes. The prequel movies didn't do her legacy justice, though, and even made it seem like everyone forgot about her by the end of the trilogy. Thanks to the books, comics, and TV shows that make up the Star Wars Expanded universe, Padmé's character has been given the chance to shine in a bigger, brighter spotlight than the big screen ultimately gave her.
