The first trailer for upcoming Apple TV+ show Masters of the Air has just landed.

The tense new trailer for the upcoming World War 2 series starring Austin Butler is now online, and gives us a raw look at the American airmen taking the fight to Hitler’s doorstep.

Based on a true story, Master of the Air stars Butler as Major Gale Cleven of the 100th Bomb Group alongside Barry Keoghan as Lt Curtis Biddick. They’re joined by Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook, and Ncuti Gatwa.

The nine-part series comes from Band of Brothers and The Pacific producers Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman, and will essentially be a companion to these previous shows.

For an even closer look, Apple recently released some Masters of the Air first-look images, too:

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name, and scripted by John Orloff, Masters of the Air follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the ‘Bloody Hundredth’) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air. Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of Masters of the Air. Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.”

Masters of the Air has been in the works since October 2019 and is the first series to be produced by Apple Studios. Playtone is co-producing alongside Amblin Television. Masters of the Air debuts on Apple TV+ on January 26, 2024.
