It’s impossible to talk about Dragon Ball without Goku or Vegeta entering the conversation, but Piccolo is arguably just as important to the narrative and one of the series’ greatest redemption stories. Piccolo first appears in the original Dragon Ball as a maniacal villain who’s determined to finish what his father, Demon King Piccolo, couldn’t with the death of Goku and the subjugation of mankind. Piccolo gradually learns to love Earth and he considers it his official home, while former adversaries like Goku become the Namekian’s best friends.
