The X-Men have two jobs in the Marvel Universe: fight for the rights of mutantkind and train young mutants to control their powers. Mutation is extremely random. While there are mutant powers that many mutants share - mental powers, super strength, flight, healing factors - there are mutants powers that kind of boggle the mind. Whether it be out of uniqueness or because of a strange mixture of powers, there are a lot of weird X-Men out there.
