Sony has revealed that PlayStation 5's accessibility controller, Access, will launch December 6 for $89.99, with preorders kicking off July 21.

Detailed on the PlayStation Blog, Sony explained the Access controller allows users to create up to 30 control profiles that include stick settings, toggle commands, and disabling buttons entirely to prevent accidental presses. The Access controller comes with four expansion ports, 19 button caps, three stick caps, and 23 button cap tags.

Players can also pair up to two Access controllers and one DualSense to customize their setups even further. PlayStation also shared an official Features Trailer for the access controller, which you can watch below.

Players in the United States, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria and Portugal can preorder through PlayStation Direct, while select retailers will have the controller on the same day worldwide.

The controller was first revealed on stage at CES 2023 as Project Leonardo. At the time, Sony said the controller was designed to "remove barriers to gaming and help players with disabilities play more easily, more comfortably, and for longer periods on PS5."

In IGN's Access Designed column, Grant Stoner called the reveal of PlayStation's adaptive controller one of the main accessibility successes of 2023 so far.
