DC Comics kicked off the Golden Age of comics when they unveiled Superman in Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Action Comics #1. In 1956, Barry Allen's Flash launched the Silver Age, an era known for younger, updated versions of Golden Age mantles, such as Hal Jordan becoming the new Green Lantern after Alan Scott.
