The Ahsoka series gave the Force the mystical portrayal it's always needed. Star Wars' iconic energy field has been a narrative staple of the franchise ever since the first 1977 film. The power itself, which combined the magic of the fantasy genre with a sci-fi setting, resulted in a fantastically compelling world for George Lucas' space operas. As the franchise has expanded with more films, so too has the Force experienced constant evolution. Darth Vader's Force choke ability eventually paved the way for Darth Sidious' enormous Force lightning storm in The Rise of Skywalker. That being said, Star Wars has always faced the narrative struggle of depicting inexperienced Force wielders.
