Netflix has finally shared the first teaser for Squid Game's highly anticipated second season.

Posted on Netflix's official X/Twitter account, the streaming giant shared a 17-second clip from Squid Game Season 2. It picks up immediately after the end of the first season, showing the lead character Seong Gi-hun threatening whoever is on the other end of the phone, determined to find out who is running the games. This same clip is also available in a new video uploaded on Netflix's YouTube account, which previews a slew of films and TV shows set to be released on the streaming service in 2024.

Along with the clip, Netflix provided a caption with public confirmation that the second season will arrive on its platform sometime this year. Of course, this is not the first time Netflix announced the release window for Squid Game Season 2. In its earnings report published last week, Netflix quietly announced that Squid Game, among a slew of other shows like Bridgerton Season 3, was slated to release in 2024.

News on Squid Game Season 2 has been rare since Netflix announced it was renewing the South Korean show for another season. Last June, Netflix revealed that Season 1 stars Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo would all return for Season 2, as well as confirmation that cast members joining the next season include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun.

In our Season 1 review of Squid Game, we said: "Squid Game is a candy-coated battle royale that thrives on making its players — and audience — squirm."
