If comfortable 4K gaming at the lowest expensive is your goal, then this deal can't be beat. Currently, Walmart has the Powercolor Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU for $949.99. Log into your (free) Walmart account and there's a $100 coupon that you can clip that drops the price to $849.99. This is far and away the lowest price we've ever seen for AMD's most powerful GPU. The 7900 XTX offers more horsepower than the RTX 4080 and goes toe to toe with the likes of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER.

Powercolor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Video Card (Comparable to the RTX 4080 SUPER) for $849.99

The Radeon RX 7900 XTX is AMD's flagship card, and it's mean enough to challenge the higher end GeForce RTX 40 series cards. When you look at raw benchmarks (without raytracing or DLSS), the RX 7900 XTX in on par with the RTX 4080 SUPER in several games. The RTX 4080 SUPER with DLSS enabled does outperform the RX 7900 XTX (only for games that support DLSS, of course), and the RTX 4080 SUPER is better at raytracing. But still, that's a pretty awesome win for a card that's considerably less expensive. The RTX 4080 SUPER starts at $999.99, but it's more commonly available at prices of $1050 and up.

The RX 7900 XTX Comes with 24GB of VRAM

Another advantage of the RX 7900 XTX is the fact that it's equipped with 24GB of GDDR6 VRAM. That's as much video memory as the $1600 RTX 4090. Both the RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 SUPER have only 16GB of VRAM. Having additional memory is useful when gaming at higher resolutions like 4K, but it's also great for other non-gaming apps that are VRAM hogs including AI image generation apps (like Stable Diffusion), 3D rendering, machine learning, and more.

Better value than NVIDIA, if you don't care about ray tracing

AMD Radeon cards are outstanding alternatives to the NVIDIA GeForce cards in terms of both price and availability. For most gamers who want to maximize their performance for their dollar, AMD GPUs are the way to go. However, if you're set on playing 4K games with ray tracing enabled, then you'll want to stick with NVIDIA. That's because the GeForce cards admittedly perform far better than their Radeon counterparts when it comes to ray tracing. Ray tracing is a form of rendering that allows for more realistic lighting effects. It makes light sources and shadows look better, but at the steep cost of GPU resources.
