Pokémon Go is integrating itself into Major League Baseball stadiums for an official collaboration with the American sports organization, finally giving attendees something fun to do while all that other stuff is happening on the field.
Starting opening day of the 2025 season and planned to continue for the next three years, MLB parks will be populated with home team-branded PokéStops and Gyms as well as a variety of Routes to follow throughout each location for rewards.
Additional bonuses — in-game baseball caps for the home team, timed research missions during the game, and baseball ballpark backgrounds for Pikachu — will be made available at special theme nights. Here’s the current schedule, though dates are apparently subject to change:
- Cleveland Guardians – Friday, May 9
- Seattle Mariners – Wednesday, July 2
- Miami Marlins – Friday, July 18
- Milwaukee Brewers – Friday, July 25
- San Diego Padres – Monday, July 28

“We’re delighted to partner with MLB to help make playing Pokémon Go even more fun and engaging at ballparks across the country,” Niantic head of business development Sarah Gilarsky said. “This unique integration of digital Pokémon Go gameplay and the physical experience of enjoying a game together at an MLB ballpark is a wonderful way for friends and families to connect and share their passions for Pokémon and baseball.”
