It’s time to give Wolfenstein: Youngblood another chance — it’s free, after all

The latest marquee title available for free to Amazon Prime subscribers is Wolfenstein: Youngblood. MachineGames and Arkane Studios’ 2019 co-operative FPS is full of Nazis and their brutal machinations that need to be put down, and takes place almost two decades after the events of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. You and a partner (either online or with an AI-controlled companion) will command Jess and Soph Blazkowicz, siblings who are working together to find their dad, B.J.. It’ll be available to redeem through March 20.

Youngblood’s reputation may not have the shine of its predecessors, though it seems like a great way to spend the weekend. Our review noted that, while it comes up a little short on story, it’s a “far simpler, more immediately satisfying game” because of it. And if you’re really enjoying playing the game with someone (who doesn’t love merely existing in MachineGames’ great-feeling FPS playgrounds?), the game offers a lot to do in terms of quests.

So long as you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can claim your free copy of the game, which is available through the Microsoft Store for PC and Xbox.

February has been a banger so far, and in addition to Wolfenstein: Youngblood, you can scoop up the likes of Hardspace: Shipbreaker, BioShock Infinite, The Talos Principle, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, and many others. Just note that most games aren’t redeemable on Steam; most titles will get you copies on the Epic Games Store, GOG, or they’ll be playable through Amazon’s Luna cloud game streaming service. Still, free is free.
