The comedy genre has a wide variety of films, with some of cinema's greatest careers having been built up through the power of making people laugh. However, the genre is a very mixed bag when it comes to genuinely funny stories. Many films try too hard to be funny, resulting in jokes that fall completely flat and stories that go nowhere.
