When the pilot for The Venture Bros. was released in 2003, it set the stage for one of Adult Swim's single most ambitious properties. The series, beginning as something of an extended parody of adventure animation like Johnny Quest, evolved to be so much more -- a loving send-up of some of pop-culture's most iconic characters, an expansive action series in its own right, and an introspective exploration of found family and stunted legacy. When The Venture Bros. eighth season was canceled, fans feared that there would never be resolution to the show's Season 7 cliffhanger ending.
