Tears of the Kingdom's story introduced some great new characters while also further building on the development that Princess Zelda experienced in Breath of the Wild. It also explored some key concepts introduced in that game such as the source of the Calamity, and even the mysterious Zonai tribe that was only briefly hinted at through scattered ruins throughout Hyrule. These connections to BOTW were important being that TOTK is a direct sequel, but even after the credits rolled, TOTK still left behind some huge plot holes pertaining to the previous game that never got addressed—until now.
