While Marvel Studios had high hopes, many have deemed Secret Invasion a disappointment. A lot has to do with forced kills for shock value, an inconsistent tone, and a narrative that doesn't make Nick Fury look smart. In fact, while it's understandable he's flawed after the Snap, Fury comes off like someone with no plan at all.
