Star Trek stories are set in a world of immensely powerful beings and deceitful, charismatic tyrants. The old axiom, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it," is especially resonant in Star Trek, as Jake Sisko (the son of Captain Benjamin Sisko) and Alexander Rozhenko (the son of Worf) now know. In the opening arc of IDW's new Star Trek series, which is set before the events of the 2002 film Star Trek: Nemesis, Jake's missing father returned and went right back to saving the galaxy; this time from a fascist Klingon cult known as the Red Path, whose manipulative leader offered Alexander a sense of belonging. That sense was shattered in the recent Day of Blood crossover, where Captain Sisko and Worf defeated the cult and rescued Alexander from its clutches. Afterward, they set out on separate missions for Starfleet, leaving their sons, who are not part of the organization, behind.
