William Gibson’s 1984 novel Neuromancer is a foundational work that has defined the cyberpunk genre and shaped science fiction as we know it. Now, 40 years later, The Folio Society is releasing the ultimate Neuromancer collector’s edition in honor of this ruby anniversary. It is very likely the most prestigious version of the book to ever be released, featuring 14 illustrations from award-winning artist Anna Mill and bound in printed, blocked, and laminated paper, all wrapped in a clamshell box inspired by the novel’s Ono-Sendai Cyberspace 7 hacking deck (also designed by Mill). As The Folio Society notes, “William Gibson has approved every last pixel in this collector’s edition,” and has also signed each copy alongside Mill.

Such a pristine tribute does not come cheap, and this collector’s edition is $600 with only 500 copies printed (as of this writing, over half have already been sold, so you might have to act fast if you’re wanting your own copy). If you’re looking for something a bit more budget-conscious, Penguin Galaxy’s 2016 hardcover Neuromancer print is itself an AIGA design winner, and is currently $21.49 (was $28) on Amazon. A paperback edition is also on sale for around $11 (was $19).
