Marvel's Secret Invasion is headed to Hulu.
After a somewhat lukewarm viewership reception on Disney+, Disney is opting to take its latest Marvel streaming series wider by bringing its first three episodes over to Hulu for a limited time, running from July 21 through August 17.
The idea seems to be to encourage viewers who enjoy the start of the series on Hulu to watch the rest on Disney+, as the finale (episode 6) premieres on Disney+ next Wednesday, July 26.
This is not the first instance of Disney relaxing its streaming stanglehold of its own properties. It also announced recently that Ms. Marvel would debut on broadcast TV in August. Another television giant, CBS, is importing Yellowstone from its Paramount Network to air on television as well amid ongoing Hollywood strikes.
We gave the first two episodes of Secret Invasion a 7/10, calling them a "welcome and solid return for the MCU's lesser-used gritty espionage template." The most recent episode to air, episode 5, was just "okay" though, as we noted it "lacks the required intrigue to be a successful thriller."
