With the premiere of Superman & Lois' third season, James Gunn casting David Corenswet as Superman for the DCU, and the premiere of the Adult Swim animated series, My Adventures with Superman, 2023 is proving to be a great year for Superman fans. While Zack Snyder approached the Last Son of Krypton with a grittier and more pessimistic take in 2013's Man of Steel, it failed to connect with both critics and mainstream audiences. Because of this, a complete cinematic do-over for Superman is set for a 2025 release, and with the similarities they already seem to share, the newest animated series offers plenty of inspiration.
