Futurama's unique balance of sci-fi, comedy and pathos allowed the show to tackle some heavy ideas. In fact, some of the show's most emotionally complex plotlines and largest stakes were explored in the goofiest way possible. This was especially true for Bender-centric episodes, given the character's emotional volatility and impossible limits.
