SSD prices are trending upwards for 2024 and we don't know how long that will last. Most 2TB PS5-compatible SSDs are already currently selling for $130 or higher, but there is one exception. Right now Amazon is offering the Crucial T500 2TB PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 solid state drive (SSD) for only $107.99. This deal probably won't last because shipping is already delayed out to late January. This model doesn't include a heatsink. You can either pick up a separate heatsink or get the similar Crucial P5 Plus SSD with a preinstalled heatsink for $119.99, although that one is almost out of stock as well.

The Crucial T500 is the upgraded successor to the very popular P5 Plus. It's better than the P5 Plus in every way, boasting both faster 7,400MBps/7,000MBps sequential speeds and 1.18M/1.44M IOPS random speeds. The PC gamers, there's no reason to go for the older P5 Plus model, especially since the price is essentially the same. For PS5 gamers, however, these numbers don't really matter; the P5 Plus was already faster than Sony's recommended minimum speed requirements.
