Not only did Rebecca Sugar create Steven Universe, one of the most iconic and groundbreaking cartoons of the modern era, she also wrote a ton of music for the show and the tie-in movie.
The movie soundtrack now has a new snazzy vinyl 10” available for pre-order from iam8bit. The four-piece vinyl set contains all 17 songs from the movie performed by the cast, as well as the complete score. Previously, iam8bit released a now sold-out vinyl set of all the songs from the show.
Additionally, iam8bit also has a special edition of Sugar’s personal album, Spiral Bound. Sugar released Spiral Bound in 2023 on Bandcamp. It was inspired by their own journaling in spiral bound notebooks. Sugar designed new art for the vinyl’s release, and the whole set is supposed to be very notebook inspired, from the blue-inked doodles to the eraser pink vinyl. The six-track album is short but evocative, as Sugar croons about healing from trauma and striving for perfection.
Both vinyls are available for pre-order till Feb. 27, and will ship sometime later this year.
