Today's daily deals for Tuesday, August 15 include PS5 console, DualSense controller, and SSD upgrade, Star Wars The Black Series lightsaber, LG Ultragear OLED gaming monitor, the recently released RTX 4060 Ti GPU, Xbox Series X Diablo 4 console bundle, PApple iPads, Tissot stainless steel men's watch, and more.
Silicon Power 2TB PS5 SSD with Heatsink for $85.97
The Silicon Power XS70 SSD with a preinstalled robust aluminum heatsink costs well under $100. The aluminum heatsink is still slim enough to fit in the PS5 without obstruction. It boasts transfer speeds of up to 7300MB/s read and 6800MB/s write, comfortably faster than the 5500MB/s minimum recommended requirement. It actually performs a little better than the Crucial P5 Plus, the original WD Black SN850, and the Samsung 980 Pro, although that won't make a difference in your PS5.
50% Off the Star Wars Black Series Darth Revan Force FX Elite Lightsaber
The Star Wars The Black Series Darth Revan Force FX Elite Electronic Lightsaber normally retails for $278.99, but today Amazon is offering it for $139.49, or 50% off. This lightsaber still currently sells for $200+ everywhere else. Hasbro's The Black Series Force FX lightsabers are built better than your standard cosplay prop and they don't go on sale too often. If you're a Star Wars fan, this would be a nice addition to your collection at a pretty hefty discount.
Some of you older gamers might remember Darth Revan as the main character of the 2003 game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Rebublic. As a Sith Lord, Darth Revan wielded the familiar red-bladed lightsaber. However, as a reformed Jedi, he commanded a purple-bladed lighstaber. Thus, Revan's Black Series Force FX light saber has the unique feature of having two swappable light saber colors: red and purple.
27" LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor for $799.99
Today Amazon has dropped the price of the LG UltraGear 27GR95QE 27" OLED gaming monitor to $799.99. It normally retails for $999.99. The LG UltraGear 27GR95QE is a 27" 2560x1440 (1440p) monitor that boasts a 240Hz refresh rate over DisplayPort. At 1440p resolution, even today's mid-range cards are capable of achieving 240Hz+ framerates on games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, or Warzone.
LG also includes a 2 year "zero burn-in" warranty. Burn-in is probably the biggest fear that prospective buyers have when looking at a new OLED purchase. Burn-in warranties are uncommon and a two year burn-in warranty is only reserved for LG's gaming monitors, NOT for their OLED TVs. That's yet another reason to choose a dedicated OLED monitor over converting an OLED TV to monitor use.
MSi GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB OC GPU for $379.99
The RTX 4060 Ti is currently the fastest card you can get for under $400. There are certainly faster cards out there, but you'll have to pay hundreds more. The RTX 4060 Ti is comparable to the RTX 3060 Ti, but it is more power efficient and has support for DLSS 3.0. It also has some nice features lacking in AMD counterparts like NVIDIA Broadcast, NVIDIA Reflex, and more. Lenovo currently has it for the best price.
Big PlayStation 5 Sale on Amazon
For this week only, Sony has decided to slash prices on their PS5 console and DualSense controllers. You'll see this sale at quite a few vendors, and that includes Amazon.
Tissot T-Sport PRC200 Stainless Steel Men's Watch for $221.99
Amazon is currently offering a Tissot T-Sport PRC200 Stainless Steel Chronograph Mens Watch for only $221.99. That's a pretty hefty price drop from the original $595 MSRP. It currently sells for $525 on the Tissot website and we've seen it go for as low as about $300 on Amazon, but rarely below that.
Tissot is a well respected and longstanding Swiss watch brand that's currently owned by The Swatch Group. The PRC200 features a 42mm 316L stainless steel case and strap with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal face. It's waterproof up to 220m or 660 feet. Movement is Swiss quartz, with a convenient EOL indicator when the battery is running low (second hand moves every 4 seconds instead of every second). The black watch face features Superluminova Arabic numeral dials, a tachymeter bezel, and three chronographs (60-seconds, 30-minutes and 1/10 second counters).
2021 Apple iPad 10.2" 64GB for $249.99
Today Amazon is offering the 2021 Apple iPad 10.2" Wi-Fi 64GB tablet for only $249.99 after an additional $20 instant discount that's automatically applied during checkout. This iPad normally retails for $329, so you're saving about 25%. This is the lowest price we've ever seen for what was already the most affordable iPad you can get and matches what we saw on Amazon Prime Day. Even at its $329 MSRP, the 2021 Apple iPad is $110 cheaper than the 2022 Apple iPad, $170 cheaper than the iPad Mini, $270 cheaper than the iPad Air, and $470 cheaper than the iPad Pro.
65" Hisense R6 4K Roku TV for $379.99
The R6 model is Hisense's budget lineup of 4K TVs. This is a no frills TV that offers a limited set of features but, more importantly, still offers solid image quality. At such a bargain price, don't expect this TV to be decked out with the latest and greatest HDR and gaming features. Instead, it's ready to go out-of-the-box for you to start streaming and enjoying 4K content. it features a large 65" screen size, 4K resolution, and a Roku TV smart interface (no external streaming stick necessary). Although the R6 is capped at 60Hz (with "Motion Rate 120"), it still fares well in gaming thanks to its low input lag.
HP OMEN 40L RTX 4070 Ti Gaming PC for $1529.99
HP offers one the best prices we've ever seen for an RTX 4070 Ti gaming PC. The OMEN 40L doesn't sacrifice with its other specs, either. The liquid cooled Intel Core i7-13700K CPU is just about as good as the i9-13900K in terms of gaming prowess. The RTX 4070 Ti performs better than the RTX 3090. Compared to AMD's best card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, it only performs slighly worse without ray tracing, but it performs better with ray tracing enabled. It also supports DLSS 3.0 (DLSS 2.0 + frame generation), something both the AMD cards and GeForce RTX 30 series lack, and that increases the performance gap for games that support it. It's still a solid card for 4K gaming and significantly cheaper than the RTX 4080 or 4090.
HP OMEN 45L RTX 3080 Gaming PC for $1376.99
Upgrade the GPU to an RTX 3080 to get this specific deal. HP is offering an RTX 3080 housed in their flagship HP OMEN 45L chassis for an outstanding price. The RTX 3080 is an excellent pick for 1080p and 1440p gaming. It's also a viable choice even for 4K gaming if you're on a budget, since it's much less expensive than RTX 40 series cards. I myself ran an RTX 3080 equipped system paired with a 4K display and played games like Elden Ring, Genshin Impact, and Hogwarts Legacy just fine at a steady 60fps.
Anker PowerCore Slim 313 10,000mAh Power Bank for $15.39
The Anker PowerCore Slim 313 is one of the slimmest 10,000mAh power banks around. It's almost the exact same dimensions as an iPhone 14 (only 0.2" thicker). There are three types of connections, but it's important to understand which is input and which is output. USB Type-C and Micro USB are INPUT only, which means that you use either of these ports to charge the power bank itself. USB Type-A is OUTPUT only, which means this is the port that you use to charge your other devices. It's capable of delivering up to 12W of charge using Anker's PowerIQ and VoltageBoost technologies.
