DC’s Big Blue Boy Scout, Superman, has been on countless adventures since his debut in 1938. He’s saved the world, enslaved the world, and even fought Muhammad Ali in a boxing match! However, nothing has been stranger than Superman’s foray into Jack Kirby’s world of Kamandi. It was a short-lived action-adventure story set in a post-apocalyptic New York. While the series only lasted for 28 issues, it received a cult following and spawned a six-issue miniseries titled Kamandi: At Earth's End by Tom Veitch, Frank Gomez, and Mike Barreiro in 1993. The success of that series paved the way for a bizarre 1995 sequel starring Superman.
