In the anime, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Frieren initially leaves on her own journey after her help in the demon king's defeat. Frieren tells her heroic party that she's going on a quest to find magic. Being that Frieren is a mage, it's easy to write this simple goal off as nothing noteworthy. However, the variety of "magic" that Frieren seeks seems much less superficial when one considers how her life loses meaning after her journey with Himmel ends.
