Netflix's Blue Eye Samurai anime recently unsheathed its first season of eight episodes, which more than live up to the expectations. Blue Eye Samurai maps out a harrowing story set in feudal Japan, which focuses on Mizu (Maya Erskine), as she pretends to be a male ronin who embarks on a revenge quest. Mizu hides her intentions well, but in time, she confirms that she is looking to kill a series of white men who she thinks sexually assaulted her mother. Mizu and her mother become outcasts, the latter of whom perishes in a fire and Mizu is left to fend for herself.
