After a brilliant time travel romance episode, Strange New Worlds reunited La'an Noonien Singh and James T. Kirk. However, any ships hoping to set sail when that reunion happened have found the tide lower than they expected. While it may be the common trope where TV series delay characters getting together, at least this time, they have a good narrative reason. Because while La'an has a crush on James Kirk, it's not the one in the episode.
