Nintendo’s Super Mario is one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time and the series wouldn’t be where it is today without compelling boss battles that match the franchise’s impressive level design and gameplay mechanics. Super Mario has taken some creative directions when it comes to its many boss fights, some of which are gargantuan versions of regular enemies while others are pure nightmare fuel and feel like they should be in darker games.
