Not every character from Star Trek: Lower Decks received their due in the big crossover with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2, Episode 7, "Those Old Scientists." Boimler and Mariner take center stage: shot back in time to Christopher Pike's starship Enterprise via an alien portal while their friends Tendi and Rutherford wait behind and fret. The move makes sense from a logistical perspective, since the episode is crowded with characters already, and saves the cost of makeup and prosthetics to make actors Noel Wells and Eugene Cordero resemble their characters.
