The What If…? episode “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?” is what Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness should have been. Beyond being a superior Doctor Strange story, the episode also gives its antagonist -- a grieving version of Strange -- a more complete arc than Wanda Maximoff is afforded in Multiverse of Madness. More important still is the fact that had the movie followed the show's storyline, Scarlet Witch would still be alive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
