As an animated science fiction comedy series, Star Trek: Lower Decks makes space travel funny. Using satirical meta-humor and over-the-top antics, Lower Decks can do what no other Trek series has ever done -- laugh at the franchise. Yet, self-referential comedy isn't the only thing the series excels at. There's one other thing the animated series has over its live-action counterparts.
