Since first appearing in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5, Saw Gerrera has been fleshed out into an intriguing character. He has been featured in three series, one movie, and one video game. In each appearance, he serves as a freedom fighter, defying the Separatists and later the Empire. Saw changed considerably over these projects; he transformed from a lean, agile, and youthful fighter into a scarred old man kept alive by a mechanical suit and breathing mask. His personality changed, too, as he became more cynical and extreme in his tactics over time.
