We have an official release date for 3 Body Problem, the upcoming Netflix sci-fi epic from the creators of Game of Thrones and The Terror: Infamy: March 21, 2024.

That marks a bit of a delay from its previous release window, as Netflix announced during TUDUM in July that it would debut in January 2024.

3 Body Problem is inspired by the Hugo Award-winning novel by Xing Yi Quan, and hails from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) and Alexander Woo (The Terror: Infamy, True Blood). As part of its ongoing Geeked Week, Netflix also revealed a new clip, which you can see below.

In the clip, we see John Bradley’s (known for his role as Samwell Tarly in Game of Thrones) Jack Rooney with Jess Hong’s Jin Cheng as they analyze a strange headset – but it’s no Meta Quest 3. Upon putting on the headset, Jack is transported to a different world entirely, and it’s made clear quickly that he’s not welcome there at all.

Per Netflix’s official 3 Body Problem logline: “A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unflinching detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.

3 Body Problem was first announced in 2020, but it’s been a long wait for more updates since then. It was previously supposed to debut this year.

In addition to Bradley and Hong, it’s got a pretty star-studded cast, including Benedict Wong, Eiza González, Tsai Chin, Liam Cunningham, and a whole lot more. Rian Johnson (Knives Out, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) will also serve as executive producer.
