Ever since Stardew Valley and other indie games reignited the fervor for farming simulators, countless titles have tried to deliver their own unique takes on the genre. Despite their efforts, most of these games continue to adhere to the basic formula popularized by Harvest Moon. Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is one of the few exceptions, and its creative approach to the farming sim formula might set a new standard for the genre.
