Games Done Quick has announced that its popular speedrunning event, Awesome Games Dones Quick (AGDQ), will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, instead of Florida.
The speedrunning group announced the change in venue for AGDQ on Wednesday after scrapping its Florida event. The event will mark AGDQ's return to an in-person format for the first time since 2020 at the Wyndham Hotel and Resorts in downtown Pittsburgh.

AGDQ was previously held in Florida on an annual basis; however, since the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world three years ago, GDQ resorted to hosting the speedrunning charity marathon in an online-only format.
The event was originally going to return to Florida this past January, but the group decided to host AGDQ 2023 online once more for political and safety reasons, citing the state's handling of the pandemic and laws targeting the LGBTQ+ community. Cost concerns also played a role.
AGDQ 2024 will be held and broadcast on GDQ's Twitch channel from January 14-21, 2024. As it had done this year, the upcoming event will be hosted to benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to cancer prevention and early detection through research, education, outreach, and advocacy.
Despite AGDQ's return to an in-person format, the event will include remote runs from participants who cannot travel for any reason.
If you wish to participate in AGDQ 2024, GDQ will accept speedrun submissions from September 1-10.
