Baldur's Gate 3 is a very different game from the first two Baldur's Gate titles. This isn't just because of the long gap between sequels and improved technology since their release. This is also because the new game adapts a different version of Dungeons & Dragons, being modeled on D&D Fifth Edition rather than Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Second Edition.
