Prime Video has shared a first look at its new animated series Batman: Caped Crusader ahead of its premiere this August.

The latest Batman series from Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves will take audiences to Gotham City, where they will reunite with some fan-favorite characters from the DC Universe, including Bruce Wayne/Batman, Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn, Commissioner Jim Gordon, and Clayface.

These familiar faces appear in several new images for Batman: Caped Crusader, along with character descriptions (included in our gallery below) to give audiences an insight into the mix of personalities featured within the Gotham gang before they take to our screens on August 1. All 10 episodes will drop on the same day.

Batman: Caped Crusader aims to continue the legacy of Batman: The Animated Series with the help of its creator, Timm, plus Abrams and Reeves, who previously created Felicity together. It also counts Ed Brubaker among its creatives, whose other work includes numerous incarnations of Batman in comic books.

WB Discovery previously cancelled Batman: Caped Crusader due to cost-cutting measures, which allowed Prime Video to swoop in and acquire the series as a further expansion of its Batman animated universe. The show has a two-season commitment from the streamer, meaning there will be more to come after its August debut.

Batman: Caped Crusader will be available to stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide beginning August 1, 2024.
