As the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has progressed, several impressive death matches and nail-biting brawls have maintained the series' reputation as a member of shonen's "Dark Trio" of anime. Alongside Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man and Yuji Kaku's Hell's Paradise, JJK is renowned for its gruesome approach to shonen, straying from the typical happy-go-lucky, "power of friendship" stereotypes. As such, this series is never expected to spare beloved characters' lives or give the main character Yuji Itadori a break. However, recently it appears as though the series may be putting too much effort into being edgy.
