The Lord of the Rings has a good case for being the greatest fantasy epic ever conceived. Its world has a depth and lore that few fictional universes could ever hope of coming close to. Even despite the consistency of LOTR's mythos, that doesn't mean it's perfect in every possible way; a fact becomes even more apparent when considering the film adaptations.
