Rorschach was created as one of the core heroes for Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seminal Watchmen series. The Noir-themed conspiratorial detective immediately put readers in mind of characters like Batman and the Question - both of whom he drew from in his stories. A clear homage to Steve Ditko's Question, the hero remains the star of Watchmen and, for that reason, fans have never stopped holding out hope for an ongoing series featuring the character.
