The Revenant is Elden Ring Nightreign’s dedicated support Nightfarer character class. Though like the Duchess, she’s not available right away — you’ll need to unlock her first.
While you can pick other characters to fulfill a supportive role, like Guardian or Raider, Revenant is the only one who feels specifically designed to help their party during an expedition. Despite the fact that her whole deal is all about death and reanimation, Revenant brings an airy and mystical vibe. Revenant is one of the more complex classes in Elden Ring Nightreign. It’s worth adding her to your play roster as soon as you can, since your parties can’t entirely consist of damage-dealers.
Below, here‘s how to unlock the Revenant class in Elden Ring Nightreign.
When you can unlock the Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign

You can unlock the Revenant after you’ve already unlocked the other unlockable character, the Duchess. Once you’ve unlocked Duchess, you’ll be able to get the Besmirched Frame relic, beginning the steps that’ll add the Revenant to your lineup of playable Nightfarers.
If you haven’t done so yet, our guide on how to unlock the Duchess in Elden Ring Nightreign can help.
How to unlock the Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign

Before you can unlock the Revenant, you’ll first need to unlock the Duchess. Once you’ve done so, you’ll be able to purchase the Besmirched Frame for 1,500 Murk from the Small Jar Bazaar in the west wing of the Roundtable Hold. (You can also fast travel to the Bazaar through the map menu.)
After purchasing the Besmirched Frame, the phantom of a young woman will appear in the east wing of Roundtable Hold. Interacting with this phantom transports you back to the tutorial area, where you must fight the Night Idol boss fight (it’s Revenant alongside her three spectral summons) with the current character you have selected. Defeating this challenging fight unlocks the Revenant permanently for your future expeditions.
How to beat the Night Idol
Defeating the Night Idol is no easy task, because it’s a four-against-one fight. The best strategy is to fight each phantom one by one, keeping distance between you and the Night Idol so that her long-range spell (Triple Rings of Light) doesn’t kill you.
Pull the smallest spirit, Helen the Page, first and dispatch her. Then move on to Frederick the Pumpkin Head, while maintaining a safe distance from Night Idol. Finally, take down Sebastian the Giant Skeleton. From there, go all in on Night Idol, either attacking her from range with arrows, magic, or throwing pots; or keeping the pressure on her up close.
Revenant class details in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Revenant is a support character who focuses on providing utility to her team by summoning spirits to help overwhelm enemies. Here’s a brief overview of her perks:
- Her passive ability, Necromancy, allows her to raise slain enemies to fight with you as allies periodically. This happens automatically and requires no input from the player.
- Her Summon Spirit character skill allows her to summon one of three spirits dedicated to her specifically to help in combat. There is a fast, dextrous spirit, an average strength-based spirit, and a slow spellcaster, all with their pros and cons in combat.
- Finally, her ultimate art, Immortal March, enables her to release a burst of energy, making her and her allies temporarily immortal. You can also use this to revive downed teammates instantly.
