LEGO rarely goes on sale. The company puts out new sets constanty, which means it can always sell them at premium price. And any set that could get discounted is usually retired before its lustre fades.
For what few discounts exist, they're usually on e-commerce websites like Amazon, Target, and Walgreen's. The customer must engage in a cost-benefit analysis: buy the set at its premium price on LEGO.com or the LEGO Store, and earn points through the Insiders program? Or buy the set via an e-commerce site, with deeper discounts, but fewer of the long-term benefits?
Here are the major LEGO set deals on Amazon Prime Day 2024, from July 16 to July 17. It's nice to get a bargain when the opportunities are so few and far between.
LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter is on Sale for $34.99 (30% off)
This X-Wing may not have the detail or proportions of its bigger brother, but it's got it where it counts. Movable wings, retractable landing gear, and 3 Minifigures (including a Princess Leia) make this an appealing mid-priced option, even before the Prime Day discount
LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith is on Sale for $125.99 (30% off)
This cozy set depicts a medieval blacksmith building that also works as a house for the hardworking craftsman. The building is complete with three levels, a bedroom and kitchen, as well as a coal forge and a workshop. It even has a garden. Lovely.
LEGO Ideas Tree House is on Sale for $160.99 (36% off)
This set has been available for more than five years – a life time in LEGO world. But build it, and it's easy to see why. It's got a bit of everything—the detail of the interiors, the knots and curved branches of the tree itself, and the option to make a seasonal switch – from green leaves in the spring and summer to orange and yellow leaves in the fall.
LEGO Marvel Nano Gauntlet is on Sale for $48.99 (30% off)
This reminder of Tony Stark's Endgame sacrifice comes on a black stand, and possesses fully articulable fingers — the better for snapping the universe into existence.
LEGO Botanical Garden Succulents is on Sale for $23.99 (20% off)
LEGO flower sets are surprisingly popular with the IGN audience. Perhaps that should come as no surprise, seeing as they're fun to put together, you can get creative with how you arrange them, and they look great as decorations. Better yet, you don't have to water them, or worry about not watering them.
