She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Tatiana Maslany has credited her divisive twerking scene with Megan Thee Stallion on the MCU miniseries as her favourite moment ever, and one she had plenty of practice for.
The hulked-out lawyer made her first MCU appearance in August 2022 in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Episode 3, "The People vs. Emil Blonsky," featured a cameo appearance from megastar Megan Thee Stallion as herself after being indirectly involved in another superpowered case of fraud taken on by GLK & H.
A post-credits scene saw Megan Thee Stallion signing papers to become a client of Maslany's Jennifer Walters (aka She-Hulk), which prompted the pair to break into a celebratory twerk to the rapper's hit song, "Body." The moment proved polarizing for fans, but Maslany has admitted she had a lot of fun with the unexpected team-up.
"I had been to multiple Megan Thee Stallion concerts before this. I was ready," Maslany said during a recent appearance at Superhero Comic Con, per Agents of Fandom. "That was the greatest moment of my life."
Episode director Kat Coiro previously told IGN that the duo's dancing scene was not always part of the script, but the writers "threw something together" because Maslany is "such a huge Megan fan."
Despite the fun all parties involved had in creating the scene and the show itself, a second season doesn't appear to be on the cards. Maslany said in January that fans should not hold out hope for a renewal of the fourth-wall-breaking comedy series and suggested budget concerns might be stopping its production.
Even though She-Hulk might be considered a smaller-scale MCU entry, the show sees Walters transform into her alter-ego after being infected with her cousin Bruce Banner's (Hulk's) blood. Much of the time is naturally spent in her She-Hulk form, likely increasing production costs considerably due to the extensive use of CGI.
The series, however, was generally well-received, meaning some fans will likely pine for a second season. In fact, IGN said the MCU should take note and "more superhero shows should be in sitcom format."
